Chris Brown has dealt with enough controversy and backlash to last a lifetime since assaulting Rihanna in 2009. People aren’t planning to forgive and forget anytime soon — in fact, just eight months ago Brown found himself in a Twitter war with comedy writer Jenny Johnson over the assault. Unable to escape his past, Brown may only have one move left — to quit music. The R&B singer took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal that following his upcoming album “X,” he is done making music.
“Being famous is amazing when it’s for your music and talent,” Brown tweeted. “I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I’m cool and over it!”
“Don’t worry, mainstream America,” he continued. “After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album.”
He has since deleted the tweets, which begs the question: was Chris serious about quitting music, or just venting?
Brown’s sixth album “X” is set to hit stores August 20.
