A New York-native, Kristen Maldonado is a jack of all trades with a deep rooted passion for the world of entertainment. She is a social media and digital content strategist, writer, content creator, and pop culture host and reviewer with a proven history of creating impactful and engaging social and digital content that connects with fans on a personal level. Additionally, Kristen has a background in musical theatre and vocal performance.
Kristen has worked at MTV for 5 years and is currently the Manager of Social Media for MTV’s TRL where she works on digital content and social media around the newly rebooted daily live show. During her time at MTV, she has launched and grown the social and digital footprints of over 40 original MTV and MTV2 shows, including Girl Code, Catfish, Faking It, True Life, the Teen Mom franchises, Awkward, Ridiculousness, and Wild ‘N Out, and tentpoles like the Movie and TV Awards and Video Music Awards, just to name a few.
Kristen is a dedicated pop culture host, content creator, and reviewer. Back in 2014, she launched her YouTube channel as a place to discuss television, movies, music, books, conduct celebrity interviews, and more in the entertainment space. She also enjoys using her platform to promote women, diversity, and LGBTQ+ representation in Hollywood. Additionally, Kristen has worked on video content with MTV and Glamour. She hosted MTV’s All The Feels, an online recap show for Faking It featuring cast interviews that gave a deeper look into each episode of the show. She was also featured in Glamour’s body positive “Women Sizes 4-30 Try On The Same Swimsuit” video and has more projects in the works.
What draws Kristen to entertainment is the chance to learn more about the celebrities, television shows, movies, music, and books that she loves and then discuss it with other passionate fans. She has a diverse journalistic background, having worked in radio, podcasts, writing, television, and online video, both on-screen and behind-the-scenes. Kristen has experience covering red carpet events and film festivals, like Tribeca Film Festival. She has also had the pleasure of interviewing various celebrities, including Canadian singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson, Glee’s Dianna Agron, How To Get Away With Murder’s Viola Davis, actor Adrien Brody, and Orange Is The New Black’s Taylor Schilling, among others.
