Country-pop cutie Risa Binder just released her debut album Paper Heart this past Valentine’s Day. Having always dreamed of being a singer-songwriter, she headed to Nashville to start the process. Now two years later, her dream has become a reality. Since her album dropped, she has been going back and forth between Nashville and her home in Brooklyn to promote the album and perform for music lovers. Her music is based on real experiences from her own life and inspiration from the lives of her friends and family.
Risa Binder is a true sweetheart, who believes whole-heartedly that dreams can come true if you work hard and never give up, and even her concerts are full of sweets! She loves baking and brings cupcakes to share at her shows.
I had a chance to talk with Risa about her music, her love of cupcakes, and what it was like to finally release Paper Heart. For New Yorkers, you can even attend a free Risa Binder show this coming Tuesday! You can hear about all of that and even participate in a Paper Heart CD giveaway by tuning in to Gone Country this Monday night (2/27). The show airs 11pm-1am on 88.7 WRHU-FM and world wide on WRHU.org.
Take a listen to Risa’s song “You Made It Rain,” above.
Love the single? You can get it for free on her website!
