‘Les Misérables’ Movie Trailer Released!

The trailer for the Les Misérables movie has officially been released.  A film version of the stage musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, based on the 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables follows the story of “ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole.  When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.”  Set in 19th-century France, the film features a star-studded cast of Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Sacha Baron Cohen as Thénardier, Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thénardier, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Samantha Barks as Éponine, and Aaron Tveit as Enjolras.

Les Misérables is known for being one of the longest musicals, typically running three hours in length, so I wonder how long we can expect the movie to be.

The film debuts December 14, 2012.  You can check out some stills from the movie on IMBD.com.
